This is the black dial Explorer II the way it should be. Reference 16570 ran from 1989 to 2011 and gave the line a true GMT movement with an independently jumpable hour hand. It fixed the quirks of the original and became the one to own. 40mm of brushed Oystersteel that sits right, wears flat, and does not shout. The gloss dial is deep and serious, with white markers and a red 24-hour hand that quietly tracks home time while you move.
It was built for people who actually cross time zones, not just talk about them. The fixed steel bezel is there for function, not decoration, and the sapphire crystal with date magnifier keep it legible in any light. On the wrist the solid Oyster bracelet clicks shut with that old-school stamped clasp.
No gimmicks. Just a tool watch that got everything right and never needed to change.
